Ministers Duncan and Wendy Campbell
Our background includes involvement in various movements as well as  denominations from Catholic and Seventh Day Adventist to Methodist, Baptist, and Pentecostal, and others. While there are good things we could say about various denominations, there is no perfect one. However, there is one perfect God and the epic journey between mankind and God is recorded in the Bible. Our spiritual journey in life has taken us many places and we have come to understand the background of world religions. Judeo-Christianity is the only belief that allows for true forgiveness for repentance- the remission of sin. Once you have found truth, you know truth. May your journey also lead you to the One true God and the truth revealed in His word. There are many misunderstanding out there, but If you seek God with all your heart, you will find Him.

TENANTS OF OUR FAITH

The God we believe in is the Only One True God, that is, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; Jesus the Messiah; and the Holy Spirit whom Jesus sent to Believers as The Comforter and that He created the heavens and the earth and everything in it. Therefore, We believe in One Triune God: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit to whom we pray and worship and serve only.

We believe in the Bible as the authoritative Word of God.

We believe in the Apostle’s Creed.

We believe in sharing the Gospel. We believe in the need for personal salvation for each individual (any age) through putting their trust in Jesus - It is the Holy Spirit who comes and lives inside a Believer when they give their life to Jesus.

Water Baptism is the public profession of faith for the Believer.

We believe Christians are to partake in the Lord's Passover -  Communion.

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the Dunamis Power of God.

We believe that nothing can separate us from the love of God. We understand that forces of evil exist according to Ephesians 6 and that Christians are to be alert and put on the full armor of God to withstand and become victorious over such things.

We believe that no one is perfect on earth or will ever become equal to God. We believe God is willing to forgive anyone regardless of who they are or what they have done if they will come to Him.  We believe that Believers are forgiven and are a work in progress on this earth. We believe that Jesus will finish the work He started in us and that we will become perfect when we are with Him for eternity.

We believe in the family as God designed: Father (male), Wife (female), and children. We believe the Husband and the Wife to each be unique and equal co-laborers who join into one team with the Husband ideally being the one who gives account for his family. We also believe in the right to life for any individual conceived or aged.

We believe in cross cultural, trans-denominational, extra-local, and multi-ethnic fellowship of Believers and in redeeming (according to Biblical principles and not syncretism) art and culture for use in God’s Kingdom and glory.

We believe in the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit as valid and useful for today.

We believe in a many ministry congregation- each serving as the Lord calls.

We believe in tithes, offerings, and alms as revealed throughout the Scripture.

Note: Hebrew names in parenthesis and some explanations.

Sh'ma Yisrael Adonai Eloheinu Adonai Echad. Listen Israel. God is our God. God is One.

We believe in One God (Adonai), the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and Earth, and of all things visible and invisible. We believe in One Lord, Jesus (Y'shua) the Christ (Messiah), the Only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, True God from True God, begotten, not made, of One Being with the Father; through Him all things were made. For us and for our salvation He came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary (Miriam) and became man. For our sake He was crucified (became the perfect sacrificial lamb) under Pontius Pilate; He suffered death and was buried. On the third day He rose again in accordance with the Scriptures (Torah); He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father (Adonai). He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh), the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic (meaning world wide) and apostolic church (meaning body of believers). We acknowledge God's provision for the forgiveness of sins; we look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Blogging on our faith:

The practicing of our faith includes recognizing and observing the times and seasons of Lord as revealed in the Torah. Rather than follow the seasons man has made up, we found that lining ourselves up with the word of God is walking with Him in truth and light.

We observe and celebrate the Sabbath, which is Friday evening through Saturday. Of course, we see fit to worship or minister on Sunday as doing so is good on ANY day of the week. However, as the Bible says, the Sabbath is a special day of rest set aside for us. Shabbat Shalom!

We think that it is important to get involved and to share God's love and word with anyone who is interested. Hounding or pounding someone with what we believe is NOT what we are about. Respect and courtesy should be given to all people. Everyone has their own mind to make up and that is their right. At the same time we hope that people will be on the journey to seeking God with all their hearts because if they do this, they will find Him. Education, debate, discussions, sharing information and culture are all ways to find common ground as well as give answers to those with questions.

If strong believers are not involved in the workplace and in politics and in schools then who will be? If strong believers do not stand up and speak and vote and make the right decisions, who will? We have a duty to mankind to share the Gospel and to light the way. We do not believe in "escapism" which means to ignore the real world by living in an imaginary one. Though we have a glorious future in heaven on day, the "Kingdom is at hand" today. This means that we have a job to do here, a destiny, and a legacy to leave behind.

About law and grace, which is often a serious topic for some people. Our response is that the Bible tells us that Y'shua did not come to abolish the law, but to fulfill it." We live under so many civil laws today, why can't we live under God's? Of course the moral compass and the times and seasons that God set do not pass away. Yet, because we are not perfect and do not perfectly obey the law we need atonement. This atonement can only come through sacrifice. Our atonement is Y'shua Ha Mashiac. This is not license to do whatever we want however we want it. The law of God has been written upon our hearts and His Holy Spirit dwells with us.

We pray for the Shalom peace of Jerusalem.

What does this symbol of faith represent? Each of the three symbols, The Menorah, The Star of David, and The Fish have their own individual meaning. The Menorah represents the House of Israel and The Fish represents those that believe Y'shua is the Messiah and have put their trust in Him. When the base of the Menorah and the bottom of the Fish are placed together they create The Star of David. The entire symbol represents a unified congregation- the Jew and the Gentile together as one body in the Messiah Y'shua.

History of the faith symbol: In the 1960's a Greek Orthodox monk excavated an ancient relic from a site on Mount Zion with the Aramaic inscription, "For the Oil of the Spirit". This piece also contained the symbol: "Seven branched Candelabra, Star of David, and Fish, also known as the Messianic Seal of the Jerusalem Church. There was also a small cross in the body of the fish portion. This symbol, validated by an Israeli Professor of Archeology from the University of Dortmund, Germany and by an Israeli Professor of Archeology, is said to have been originated in the late first to early second centuries. The authenticity of the artifacts is further established by an earlier discovery by Bedouins in the Judean Desert south of Jerusalem in 1963. They discovered a small silver artifact on which was found the same inscription as the other artifact, "For the Oil of the Spirit." This tiny piece (6cm x 2cm) is separately dated to the first century. This Aramaic text, similar to that of James 5:14-16, was commonly etched in anointing oil vessels. The text of James clearly indicates that the earliest Jewish Christians anointed believers with oil. The symbol was also used by Jewish-Christians to denote their belief in Y'shua. The brother of Jesus, James, was the leader of the first Nazarene (Messianic) Church located in the Upper Room on Mount Zion. This symbol is also found etched in the first century baptismal grotto of that congregation.

The Messianic Seal of the Jerusalem Church is published by Olim Publications.
